The Cross-Straits Youth Engineering Camp is a regular mechanism between IWHR and universities and companies in the Taiwan Region, and its 6th event will be held, supported by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Ministry of Water Resources, on October 16, 2018 with the aims of publicizing and promoting the new concepts, technologies, practices and achievements of Chinese mainland in water resources reform and development, as well as promoting exchange and cooperation among the young scholars across the Straits. Advantages and uniqueness of IWHR in terms of technical resources, expert team and engineering practice will be brought into full play while considerations be given to the research and practical demands of the participants from the Taiwan Island. Water sciences, technologies and projects will be taken as the mainline while water culture the carrier to organize technical lectures, discussions, laboratory tour, visits to water projects and cultural sites, output exchange and summarization. The focus will be the inheritance of water and the responsibilities of the youths in water resources development.
