Water is the source of life, the element of production and the base of ecology. Water development and disaster control, which are closely linked to the human survival and social progress, are always of significant importance for the prosperity and stability of any country. In recent years, civil engineering construction has been developing at a fast pace, with new materials, equipment, structure and construction technologies upgrading with each passing day. In this connection, the International Symposium on Efficient Utilization of Water Resources and New Technologies of Civil Engineering will be held on the afternoon of October 18 and October 19 to further promote the efficient utilization of water resources, new technologies and safety of civil engineering, so as to implement the new concept of "innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared" development proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
